Katie is a Wilmington native, growing up in the mid-town and Wrightsville Beach areas. She attended New Hanover High School, where she was heavily active in the choral program, receiving the Jane Price Award for leadership in 2016. Katie has been part of the local theatre community for 20 years, following in not only her mother's footsteps, but her father's as well. Following graduation from NHHS, Katie moved to Manhattan to attend the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in 2016/2017. After returning from school, she began working in the theatre community once again, and started working in childcare, which she would continue until early 2023.

Always wanting to remain as creative as possible, Katie started an online soap making business in 2018, which also sold artwork, handmade jewelry, homemade face and hair masks (along with soaps), and other handmade decor pieces made by Katie. The business concluded in 2020, and Katie continued her work in childcare.

​

In the summer of 2022, Katie made the decision to start her interior design education. The decision was certainly a long-time coming, as she was known for rearranging and redecorating her home (as well as other spaces) multiple times, and at any time day or night. A graduate of The Interior Design Institute, an Australian-based program, Katie graduated with a 4.0 GPA in February of 2023.

She currently lives in Wilmington with her 3 cats (Jack, Luna, and Nero).
